Logic of Form and Movement

The Module focused on studying and crafting the characteristics we liked or disliked of an insect or a creature we consider pests. We were also told to inquire about the thought of why we chose that insect or pest. Was it because you were scared of it or was it because you were curious about its characteristics? Drawings were made to study the body structure, form, and movement of the pests followed by the crafting of conceptual models for a better understanding of the form and mechanisms of the movements.

For me, I was always curious about how house flies have a sucker for eating their food while sitting on it. I started with that funnel-like sucker and sketching it out and further understanding the form of a house fly.

Sketches.

Forms.

The prototyping was based on understanding the form of the fly. While working with the form of the fly I experimented a bit with the natural form of the fly by curving its body, various sizes, etc.
